Aerial Drills – Tammy Biggs

Tammy Biggs gives a few unique drills to develop aerials. These are very difficult drills and should only be done in the gym with supervision.

    I think what she means is that you keep doing cartwheels with as much force as possible from your legs, until you have enough force to go all the way over with no hand support. Does that make sense?

    well obviously, but what she is explaining is you have to push aggressively, which is not something most gymnasts do at first, so pushing the sliders is a good visual aid

    I don’t understand the point of the sliders, but the drill themselves seem to work fine.

    well it helps the gymnast think about the leg kick, which is very important for aerial skills

    then why isnt she correcting these girls…..they are only kicking back 4 feet. I love seeing unusual drills like this. I am still not sure it it works, but it will definitely give me something different and unique to try!

    it does look like that first girl would be able to kick those back far. she kicked both of them of every time!
